Xi and Vucic Strengthen China-Serbia Relations in Beijing

During a visit to Beijing, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Chinese President Xi Jinping reaffirmed the "ironclad friendship" between China and Serbia. Xi described the partnership as a model for state-to-state relations, built on a strong historical foundation.

He awarded Vucic the Friendship Medal, China's highest honor for foreign nationals, recognizing Vucic's contributions to bilateral ties. Vucic called the award a significant moment in his life, symbolizing respect for Serbia's sovereignty and development path.

The two leaders pledged to expand cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, focusing on transport, energy, artificial intelligence, digital economy, and green energy. They also discussed enhancing people-to-people exchanges, including visa-free travel and direct flights.

Vucic praised Chinese companies for their contributions to Serbia's development. Following their talks, they signed 20 cooperation agreements covering political, trade, scientific, educational, legal, and cultural issues, advancing bilateral cooperation on global initiatives.
