YABATECH Hosts Workshop on Stop-Motion Animation Skills

Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) organized a two-day workshop focused on stop-motion animation and visual storytelling, aimed at equipping students with essential digital skills for the evolving economy. The workshop, supported by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (Tetfund) and in collaboration with Radiox Media, concluded over the weekend and brought together students and industry experts.

Dr. Ibraheem Abdul, the rector of YABATECH, opened the workshop, emphasizing the need to bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry demands.

Dr. Ismail Badmu, the deputy rector of academics, highlighted the significance of stop-motion animation as a powerful storytelling tool.

Esther Gbadamosi, Chief Executive Officer of Radiox Media, expressed concerns about the lack of coordination in Nigeria's cultural movement and urged young creatives to leverage animation for authentic African narratives. The workshop included access to a six-week paid internship program and professional training opportunities, with partnerships established to enhance students' exposure in the global animation ecosystem.
