Yakubu Gowon University to Host NUGA Preliminaries with 12 Institutions in Abuja

Yakubu Gowon University in Abuja is set to host 12 institutions for the NUGA Zone H preliminary games from September 25 to 30, 2025. Acting Professor Mathew Adamu inspected the campus facilities last week in preparation for the event.

Participating universities include Federal University of Technology Minna, IBB University Lapai, Nile University Nigeria, and others. The preliminary games will feature football, basketball, volleyball, athletics, table tennis, scrabble, and chess.

Various committees are working to ensure a successful hosting. Acting Professor Mathew Adamu expressed excitement about welcoming athletes and showcasing sportsmanship and hospitality traditions.
