YOROTA Enforces Ban on Illegal Motor Parks in Damaturu

The Yobe State Road Traffic Management Agency (YOROTA) has launched an enforcement operation against illegal motor parks and unauthorized roadside businesses within the Damaturu metropolitan area. This initiative commenced on Monday, following the agency's weekly general staff parade and polling exercise.

YOROTA's operation aims to restore order, enhance road safety, reduce traffic congestion, and ensure the free movement of vehicles and pedestrians in the state capital. In a statement signed by Public Relations Officer DSY Musa Ali Maigari, the agency reminded transport operators, commercial drivers, tricycle riders, and roadside traders that their activities contravene existing traffic regulations.

The statement warned that anyone found violating the directive would face sanctions according to the law. YOROTA has called on transport unions, stakeholders, community leaders, and residents to cooperate with the enforcement team to ensure the exercise's success, emphasizing that public support is crucial for promoting environmental sanitation and maintaining public order.
