Yobe Police Impound 67 Unregistered Vehicles in Crackdown

The Yobe State Police Command announced the impounding of 67 unregistered vehicles as part of an intensified enforcement exercise targeting illegal vehicle operations. The command highlighted that vehicles displaying obscured or faded number plates and those with tinted glass operating without valid permits pose significant security concerns.

Criminal elements often exploit unregistered vehicles to conceal their identities while perpetrating crimes, including drug trafficking and other illicit activities. The Commissioner of Police, Usman Kanfani Jibrin, called on vehicle owners and motorists to ensure their vehicles are properly registered and display clear, visible, authentic number plates.

He also urged them to obtain the necessary permits for tinted glass. The police command warned that vehicles found violating these regulations would be impounded and offenders prosecuted according to the law.

The command further directed area commands and divisional police officers to maintain enforcement efforts while respecting citizens' rights and ensuring public safety.
