Yobe APC Aspirants Reject Wali's Endorsement for 2027

In Yobe State, two governorship aspirants from the APC, Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai and Kashim Musa Tumsa, have publicly rejected the endorsement of Alhaji Baba Malam Wali for the 2027 elections. This decision was made during a meeting led by Governor Mai Mala Buni and attended by various stakeholders, including Ibrahim Gaidam.

The aspirants criticized the endorsement as an affront to democratic principles, asserting that leadership should not be determined by a select few but through a transparent process reflecting the will of the people. Bomai emphasized that no individual, regardless of past political influence, should dictate leadership choices for millions of citizens.

Tumsa echoed these sentiments, stating that the endorsement does not align with the spirit of internal democracy. The APC had previously resolved to support the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and adopt a consensus candidate for the governorship, but Bomai and Tumsa's rejection highlights ongoing tensions within the party regarding candidate selection.
