Baba Malam Wali Wins APC Gubernatorial Primary in Yobe

Baba Malam Wali has been declared the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate for Yobe State following the conclusion of the direct primary election, where he secured the highest number of votes, totaling 236,711. The election results were announced by Muttaka Rabe Darma, the chairman of the electoral committee.

Other aspirants included Hamidu Muhammad, who received 1,722 votes, Alhaji Dr. Abubakar Bukar Kagu with 9,748 votes, Bashir Shariff Machina with 1,894 votes, Engr.

Yunusa Mustapha with 1,178 votes, Maaji Modu with 1,371 votes, and Inusa Moham with 1,148 votes. Baba Malam Wali's victory meets the requirements set by the APC constitution, leading to his declaration as the winner of the primary election.

He expressed appreciation to Governor Mai Mala Buni, Senator Ibrahim Geidam, and other APC executives for their support and called for unity among party members to ensure success in the upcoming general elections in 2027.
