Yobe Governor Approves Jobs for 416 Nursing Graduates

On Tuesday, Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni announced the approval of automatic employment for 416 nursing graduates during the graduation ceremony at Shehu Sule College of Nursing Science in Damaturu. The graduates include 158 community nurses, 196 basic nursing midwives, and 62 higher national diploma nursing graduates.

This decision is part of the administration's ongoing efforts to address manpower shortages and enhance access to quality healthcare services across the state. Governor Buni highlighted the consistent support for the college over the past seven years, which has led to positive outcomes, particularly in training qualified health professionals.

Recently, the government recruited 3,500 healthcare workers from the college to ensure adequate staffing in the sector. Buni reaffirmed the administration's commitment to building an efficient, people-oriented healthcare system and noted the establishment of a biomedical research training center at the state university to enhance research capacity and train young scientists.

The event also featured the launch of a compendium magazine documenting the administration's achievements.
