Yobe State Sponsors 237 Educators for NTI Training

The Yobe State Government has sent forth 237 senior secondary school teachers and principals for intensive training at the National Teacher Institute (NTI) in Karu. The delegation consists of 79 principals and 158 educators as part of a broader manpower reform strategy within the state’s civil service.

The send-off ceremony took place in Damaturu, with Alhaji Moham Musa Shehu, the head of service, emphasizing the importance of aligning training with national education policies established in 2013. He highlighted the need for strong professional leadership to improve school management and support the growth of the teaching profession.

Ibrahim Bulama Yusuf, the state focal person for training, noted that the selection process was handled transparently by relevant educational boards. The selected participants will receive full government sponsorship, including registration, accommodation, and meals during their training.

Ado Idriss, the chairman of Yobe's teaching service board, described the initiative as unprecedented, with 80-90 percent of the selected participants at grade level 16, indicating significant involvement from senior stakeholders in the education sector.
