Shaibu Urges Tinubu to Focus on Nigerians, Not Atiku

On Tuesday, Phrank Shaibu, the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication to Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, responded to President Bola Tinubu's criticisms of Atiku's proposed policies. Shaibu urged Tinubu to cease his attacks, asserting that Atiku is not the President's problem.

He emphasized that Tinubu should concentrate on the economic difficulties faced by Nigerians. Shaibu noted that in a recent statement on social media platform 𝕏, Tinubu criticized Atiku's economic positions without naming him, claiming he would not "dignify" opposition leaders.

Shaibu stated that Nigerians recognize Tinubu's criticisms were directed at Atiku, who stands with citizens struggling under the cost-of-living crisis. He highlighted Atiku's stance that petrol should not be a luxury in an oil-producing nation and that the effectiveness of economic policy should be measured by its impact on ordinary Nigerians' ability to afford essential needs.
