Sowore Demands DSS Apology Over Cybercrime Trial Delay

Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), has publicly demanded an apology from the Department of State Services (DSS) following the adjournment of his cybercrime trial until after the 2027 presidential election. During an appearance on Channels Television, Sowore expressed his frustration, stating that the DSS had previously indicated the trial would proceed despite the election season.

He criticized the DSS for seeking a long adjournment, insisting that they should withdraw the charges against him instead. Sowore emphasized that the DSS's actions disrupt lives and accused security agencies of exerting control over the judiciary.

He recounted his own experiences, including being detained for 11 days and previously facing treason charges in 2019. Sowore's statements reflect his broader concerns about the integrity of the judicial process in Nigeria and the treatment of individuals by security agencies.
