Kano Governor's Aide Predicts Kwankwasiyya Exodus from ADC

Sanusi Batur Dawakin Tofa, the spokesperson for the Kano State governor, made a statement on Facebook on Tuesday, indicating that he believes Kwankwasiyya loyalists will soon leave the African Democratic Congress (ADC). He suggested that within a week, the Kwankwasiyya faction, led by former Kano governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, will abandon the ADC, which is currently grappling with internal leadership disputes.

This turmoil has led to uncertainty regarding the ADC's political viability as it prepares for the upcoming 2027 elections. The Kwankwasiyya movement recently defected to the ADC after resigning from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

Dawakin Tofa's remarks reflect the ruling government's confidence in the Kwankwasiyya faction's struggle to find a stable political platform for the next generation of elections.
