Youth Engagement Crucial for Governance, Says Adenugba

Prince Farooq Adenugba, the Special Adviser to the Ogun State Governor on OPIC, Housing and Special Projects, stated that sustained engagement with youth is essential for promoting inclusive governance and addressing community challenges. This statement was made during the Strategic Ijebu North Youth Retreat/Engagement held at Omo Ilu Hall, Ijebu Igbo, where over 2,000 youths and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress convened to discuss governance, community development, and political participation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Adenugba clarified that the retreat was not a campaign but a platform for meaningful interaction to identify pressing issues and seek solutions. Participants urged governments to prioritize youth empowerment through job creation and improved infrastructure.

The event also featured discussions on the political future of Ogun State, endorsing Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola as the APC governorship candidate for 2027 and supporting Governor Dapo Abiodun for the Ogun East Senatorial seat. Adenugba assured that resolutions from the retreat would be documented for policy consideration.
