Nigeria to Host First Youth Summit on Infrastructure Protection

The CNAIP Youth Initiative has announced plans to convene Nigeria's first national youth-led summit focused on the protection of critical national infrastructure. Scheduled for June 15-17, 2026, at the NAF Conference Center in Jabi, Abuja, the summit aims to safeguard Nigeria's critical assets amid rising threats such as physical destruction and cyberattacks.

Aniefiok Jimmi, the special envoy for sustainable development, emphasized the need to redefine the role of youth in national development, highlighting that 64 million Nigerian youths live near critical infrastructure but lack formal engagement. The initiative includes four core programs: an annual national summit, a nationwide public awareness campaign, a youth volunteer scheme, and a reform program for risk management.

The summit is expected to attract around 1,000 participants, including government officials, security agencies, youth leaders, and private sector stakeholders, and will feature policy dialogues, workshops, and the official launch of the CNAIP youth volunteer scheme.
