Youth Party Elects Abubakar as National Chairman in Abuja

The Youth Party held a national convention in Abuja on a Saturday, where Abubakar was elected as the new national chairman. He highlighted significant challenges facing the party, including indiscipline, poor visibility, weak mobilization, and financial constraints.

Abubakar described the election as a success, marking the completion of efforts to deepen the party's grassroots presence, with congresses conducted across 26 states. He stated that the party would adopt a transparent and reform-driven political approach, moving away from ethnic and religious sentiments.

Abubakar outlined his administration's priorities, which include conducting free and fair primaries, amending the party's constitution, enforcing party discipline, and preparing for the 2027 elections. He expressed the belief that no goals could be achieved without discipline and set a target of winning at least 10 legislative seats in the next general elections.
