Tinubu Supports Widows of Slain Security Personnel

On Thursday, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady and National Chairman of the Renewed Hope Initiative, praised the widows of slain security personnel for their extraordinary courage during a financial support presentation at the Banquet Hall of the State House. The event was attended by notable figures including Chief of Defense Staff General Femi Oloyede and Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Rilwan Disu.

Senator Tinubu emphasized the importance of recognizing the sacrifices made by security forces and their families. She announced that 1,638 widows would receive financial support of 500,000 naira each, totaling 819 million naira, to help them start or recapitalize businesses.

This initiative follows a previous program launched on November 14, 2023, which provided 250,000 naira each to 1,420 widows and orphans. The support aims to empower these women who have endured significant loss and hardship due to their husbands' service.
