YPP Urges INEC to Extend Voter Registration for 2027

The Young Progressive Party (YPP) has expressed concerns regarding the potential exclusion of eligible Nigerians from the 2027 general election due to the closure of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise. In a statement made in Abuja, Hon. Abraham Simon Adedotun, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Chairman of the YPP, alongside the party’s FCT senatorial candidate, Blessing Ufedojo Benyeogor, called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to reconsider its decision to close the registration process.

They emphasized that many eligible citizens, especially young people who have not yet registered, could be disenfranchised if the CVR is not extended. The appeal was made during a joint statement issued to journalists over the weekend, highlighting the urgency of providing another opportunity for citizens to register before the elections.
