PRP Aspirant Urges Nigerians to Register for Elections

Yakubu Moham Kingsley, a presidential aspirant for the People Redemption Party (PRP) in the 2027 general elections, voiced serious concerns regarding the low turnout of eligible Nigerians participating in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). During a meeting of the YMK Nigeria Project Movement in Abuja, Kingsley lamented that despite a two-week extension of the registration period, eligible Nigerians have shown reluctance to register.

He noted that the registration exercise is crucial for the upcoming elections scheduled for May 25, 2026, and emphasized that without registration, citizens cannot obtain a Permanent Voter Card (PVC), which is essential for voting. Kingsley appealed to all eligible Nigerians, particularly youth and women, to visit their nearest registration centers before the exercise closes on July 26, 2026, highlighting the importance of civic participation in shaping the nation's future.
