Zamfara APC Elders Endorse Consensus Primaries Ahead of 2027

The Zamfara APC Elders have endorsed the adoption of consensus primaries, describing it as the best option to promote unity, peace, and cohesion within the party ahead of the 2027 general elections. In a joint statement issued to journalists, the group commended key stakeholders, including Governor Dauda Lawal and Minister of State for Defence Bello Matawalle, for their efforts in ensuring peaceful conduct of primaries across the 14 local government areas of the state.

The statement highlighted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's fatherly intervention and dialogue, which played a major role in uniting political stakeholders in Zamfara. The elders noted Tinubu's commitment to peace and stability in the state, despite his busy national schedule.

They expressed total support for Tinubu and Lawal's re-election in 2027 and urged political stakeholders to abide by the agreements reached to continue promoting peace and unity within the party, emphasizing the paramount importance of political cohesion in Zamfara.
