Zamfara Bandits Plan Retaliation After Military Losses

Following recent military and Department of State Services (DSS) operations in Zamfara State, bandits are reportedly planning retaliatory attacks after suffering heavy losses, including the death of Ado Aliero’s son, Kachalla Iliya, and 65 other armed bandits. The operations, which targeted bandit enclaves in the Tsafe Local Government Area, were part of a sustained offensive by Nigerian military forces and DSS hybrid security units.

The operations led to the neutralization of notorious figures, including Dogo Sule and Iliya Mai Rasha, significantly disrupting the operational structure of Aliero’s criminal network. Intelligence reports indicate that surviving bandits are regrouping to launch attacks against vulnerable rural communities.

Security forces are intensifying surveillance and troop deployments in these areas to prevent further violence. The operations aim to dismantle remaining bandit camps and ensure the safety of previously abducted victims held by the neutralized commanders.
