Troops Neutralize Bandit Kingpin's Son in Zamfara Raid

On Saturday, troops from Operation Fansan Yanma launched a significant offensive against a camp linked to notorious bandit leader Ado Alero in Tsafe Local Government Area, Zamfara State. The operation resulted in the deaths of several fighters, including Kachalla Iliya Sarki, identified as the biological son of Ado Alero.

Captain David Adewusi, the spokesperson for Operation Fansan Yanma, confirmed the development in a telephone interview on Sunday, noting that the troops inflicted significant casualties on the bandit hideout, although the exact number of casualties has not been officially verified. Reports published on the Nigerian Armed Forces' military Facebook page claim that at least 65 bandit fighters were killed during the operation.

The raid also reportedly led to the death of senior lieutenants Dogo Sule and Iliya Mai Rasha. Following the attack, Ado Alero is believed to have fled towards Yankuzo Town, prompting security forces to intensify efforts to track down fleeing members of the group and prevent possible retaliatory attacks in nearby communities.
