Violent Clash in Zamfara Leaves Several Injured, Suspects Flee

A violent clash on Thursday, October 5, 2023, between youth from Tungar Kanwa and Gajarawa Village in the Morai District of Talata Mafara Local Government Area, Zamfara State, left several individuals injured. The confrontation escalated, prompting a security intervention to control the situation.

Reports indicate that the clash began around 10:30 AM and intensified, leading to distress calls received around 1:00 PM. Injured individuals, including Hakimi Tambaya (58), Umaru Abdullahi (22), Uzairu Aliyu (20), Usama Aliyu (22), Junaidu Umaru (20), Kabiru Abdullahi (20), Abdurahman Abubakar (25), and Kabiru Abu Babba (42), were taken to General Hospital Kagara for treatment, with some in critical condition referred to Orthopaedic Hospital Wamakko for specialized care.

Security sources identified seven suspects involved in the violence, who are currently at large. The suspects include Shiitu Abubakar, Ibrahim Sanda, Abu Rigima, Dan Shehu, Hakimi Ana Buba, Kungiya Hassan Dandago, and Nura Kwaimo.

Efforts are ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspects and prevent further violence in the area.
