Zamfara Parties Reject Unauthorized IPAC Leadership

Eight political parties in Zamfara have publicly distanced themselves from what they termed an unauthorized faction of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) operating in the state. This announcement was made during a press conference held in Gusau on Saturday.

The coalition, represented by Ambassador Adamu Haruna Tsafe, stated that they were unaware of a recent conference purportedly organized by individuals claiming to represent IPAC in Zamfara. Tsafe criticized the legitimacy of the purported state leadership, alleging that the election process through which it emerged did not meet the expectations of the participating parties.

He mentioned that this situation has led to a petition, with the coalition awaiting a response from the IPAC national headquarters in Abuja. Tsafe emphasized that the eight political parties, which include A.A., Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Social Democratic Party (SDP), African Action Congress (AAC), Young Progressive Party (YPP), Labour Party (LP), and Action Peoples Party (APP), do not recognize the individuals presenting themselves as IPAC leaders in Zamfara.
