Zamfara Political Parties Reject IPAC Leadership Claims

A coalition of eight political parties in Zamfara state has publicly dissociated itself from a recent press conference conducted by a faction it described as a few members claiming to be leaders of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in the state. Adamu Haruna Tsafe expressed the coalition's dismay over the briefing, which he stated was aimed at undermining the policies and programs of the state government. The coalition includes representatives from the All Progressives Congress (AA), New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Social Democratic Party (SDP), Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), African Action Congress (AAC), Labour Party (LP), Young Progressives Party (YPP), and All Progressives Grand Alliance (APP).

Tsafe emphasized that the gathering did not reflect the views of legitimate IPAC members in Zamfara. Furthermore, he revealed that a petition challenging the legitimacy of the current state leadership of IPAC has been submitted to the national headquarters of IPAC in Abuja, and they are awaiting a response.

The coalition alleged that the election that led to the current leadership was conducted in an undemocratic manner.
