Zamfara First Lady Launches Ramadan Welfare Program

On Saturday, Hajiya Huriyya Dauda Lawal, the First Lady of Zamfara State, launched a Ramadan welfare distribution program aimed at assisting 16,000 orphans and less privileged individuals across the state's 19 emirate councils. Each carefully screened beneficiary will receive a 25kg bag of rice, 20,000 Naira in cash support, clothing materials, and other essential items.

The initiative is designed to promote dignity and self-reliance among the beneficiaries and reflects the state government's commitment to improving the welfare of vulnerable citizens, as led by Governor Dauda Lawal. Additionally, Hajiya Huriyya Dauda Lawal highlighted recent government support initiatives, including marriage settlements for 200 female orphans, a 200,000 Naira dowry settlement for debt-related cases, and a 50,000 Naira business grant for 200 entrepreneurs.

The program also includes training in poultry production and computer literacy for 10 orphans. The First Lady commended the state Zakat Board and stakeholders for their dedication to this cause.
