Yobe First Lady Distributes Food to 2,000 Women

On Tuesday, Hafsat Buni, the First Lady of Yobe State, distributed food items to 2,000 vulnerable women across the state as part of the Renew Hope Initiative. This initiative aims to support vulnerable women during the holy month of Ramadan and spans all 17 local government areas in Yobe State.

The distribution was coordinated by the Yobe State Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, represented by Mairo Amshi. Hafsat Buni emphasized that the initiative will continue to empower women and strengthen community resilience, addressing food insecurity and improving the welfare of women in Yobe State.

The Ramadan packages included essential food items such as rice, spaghetti, and cooking oil, intended to ease the burden on widows and vulnerable women during the fasting period. She noted that the program aims to restore hope and encourage empowerment among the vulnerable population.

Yajalo Badama, from the Yobe State Ministry of Women Affairs, highlighted that this humanitarian effort reflects the values of service associated with Ramadan and underscores the administration's commitment to ensuring that no community, particularly the vulnerable, is left behind.
