Zamfara Guards Seize 98 Explosives, ₦13 Million Cash

On Wednesday, the Zamfara State Community Protection Guard, under the command of Mohammed Shehu, intercepted a commercial vehicle carrying 98 explosive devices and ₦13 million in cash, along with three motorcycles, while en route to a bandit camp in Bindin Village, Maru Local Government Area. The driver, identified as Abubakar Abdullahi, was apprehended during a stop-and-search operation on the Gusau-Dansadau road.

Upon investigation, the authorities discovered additional items including cartons of cigarettes, Indian hemp, and crates of apples. Abdullahi confessed that he was delivering the items to illegal miners in Bindin Village, indicating that the explosives are commonly used by bandits to attack security operatives.

Eight individuals were arrested in connection with the case, and the suspects were handed over to the appropriate authorities for further action.
