ADC Candidate Controversy: Gusau Campaign Alleges Fraud

The Mahadi Aliyu Gusau Campaign Organisation of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Zamfara has raised allegations regarding the manipulation of the party's governorship candidate for the 2027 general election. In a statement released on a Friday evening, the organization claimed that Bilyaminu Shinkafi's name was fraudulently uploaded to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal as the ADC candidate.

They asserted that Mahadi Aliyu Gusau was the rightful candidate, having won the party's primary election with 35,665 votes, as confirmed by the electoral committee chairman. The campaign organization emphasized that the primary was conducted transparently, with the presence of INEC officials and security agencies.

They further alleged that Shinkafi was not a registered member of the ADC and questioned the legitimacy of his candidacy. The organization plans to challenge this alleged manipulation and called for adherence to the primary election results, citing provisions of the Electoral Act and INEC regulations.
