Zamfara State Official's Brother Defects from PDP to APC Ahead of 2027 Elections

Alhaji Bello Nakwada, the sibling of Zamfara State's Secretary to the Government, has made a significant political move by defecting from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in preparation for the 2027 general elections. His defection is perceived as a strategic boost for the APC in the state.

The announcement of Nakwada's defection was confirmed by the APC's Public Secretary in Zamfara State, Malam Yusuf Idri, in Abuja. Nakwada's defection follows his involvement in Governor Dauda Lawal's campaign during the 2023 elections.

Notably, other key political figures in Zamfara, such as Hon. Hassan Idri Gusau, have also abandoned the PDP for the APC, receiving support from Dr.

Bello Matawalle. The APC leadership has welcomed the new members, assuring them of full support and benefits within the party.

This series of defections is expected to weaken the PDP in Zamfara as influential figures continue to switch allegiances ahead of the 2027 elections.
