Kwara APC Urges Focus on Security Over Politics

The Kwara APC, through its leader Hon. Benjamin Ezekiel Yisa, emphasized the need for political actors in Kwara North to prioritize security concerns over political ambitions related to the 2027 governorship seat. During a stakeholders' meeting in Ilorin, Yisa expressed deep concern over the increasing insecurity in the region, which has faced sustained attacks from bandits and criminal elements over the past three years, resulting in killings, abductions, and widespread displacement of residents.

He criticized the focus on political rallies instead of addressing the urgent security situation, noting that people in Kwara North have been living in fear and have been forced to flee their homes. The caucus also distanced itself from a recent mega rally, asserting that it did not represent the interests of Kwara North.

Yisa reiterated that security should take precedence over political calculations, despite the caucus's support for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
