Deadly Attack in Kwara Community Leaves One Dead

On Sunday evening, a violent attack occurred in Gbugbu, located in the Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State, resulting in the death of one individual and the abduction of Ridwan Bello, a well-known provision store owner. The attack took place shortly after the Isha night prayer, when armed men stormed the community, firing indiscriminately and causing residents to flee in panic.

Local resident Mohan Yunu reported that gunfire echoed throughout the town during the incident. Two other individuals were injured during the attack.

The security situation in the area has raised concerns, and soldiers present did not engage fully to avoid civilian casualties. The local government chairman, Abdullahi Bello, announced a dusk-to-dawn curfew from 4 PM to 6 AM until further notice following an emergency security meeting held on Monday.

As of the report, security agencies had not responded to the incident.
