Ten Police Killed, 17 Bandits Neutralized in Kebbi Clash

On Monday at approximately 9:25 am, a gun battle occurred in Sakaba Local Government Area of Kebbi State between security operatives and suspected bandits, resulting in the deaths of ten police personnel and two civilians. The Kebbi State Police Command reported that the security forces intercepted the bandits moving between Zamfara and Kebbi States, leading to the neutralization of at least 17 suspected bandits, with four motorcycles belonging to the attackers also destroyed.

Bashir Usman, the spokesperson for the Kebbi State Police Command, confirmed the casualties among the police and stated that two officers were injured and receiving medical attention. Usman praised the fallen officers for their bravery and professionalism in the line of duty.

The Nigeria Police Force, through its Public Relations Officer Ani Iniedu, also confirmed the deaths and expressed condolences from Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu, who described the loss as painful and emphasized the ultimate sacrifice made by the officers in defense of the public.
