Kebbi Governor Supports Families of Slain Police Officers

Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris assured the families of 10 police officers killed during a gun battle with suspected bandits in Sakaba Local Government Area that they would not be abandoned. This assurance was given while receiving a delegation from the Nigeria Police Force, led by Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Operations, Umar Shehu-Nadada, at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi.

The officers were killed while intercepting bandits moving between Zamfara and Kebbi states, with the police reporting that 17 suspected bandits were neutralized during the encounter. Additionally, two civilians were killed, and two police personnel sustained injuries.

Governor Idris expressed condolences to the Nigeria Police Force and the families of the deceased, emphasizing the state government's commitment to supporting the families of fallen officers. He reaffirmed the government's dedication to assisting security agencies in combating terrorism and criminal activities in the state, ensuring that no part of Kebbi is surrendered to criminal elements.
