Ten Injured in Sokoto Community Clash Over Farmland

On Tuesday, a violent clash occurred between two communities in Sokoto over disputed farmland, resulting in ten injuries. The conflict, which has been ongoing for nearly three years, escalated when members of one community ambushed residents of the rival community, allegedly armed with guns and machetes.

Six individuals were injured during this initial attack. Following the ambush, members of the affected community launched a retaliatory attack, injuring four more individuals.

Security personnel were deployed to restore order after receiving distress calls regarding the violent confrontations. The local government had previously brokered a peace agreement regarding the farmland, but tensions remained high.

The injured victims were evacuated to medical facilities for treatment, with some sustaining gunshot wounds and others suffering machete cuts. The Chairman of Rabah Local Government Area, Hon.
