Ten Travelers Killed in Zamfara Bandit Attack

On Sunday, a bandit attack along the Magami-Dansadau road in Zamfara resulted in the deaths of ten travelers. Malam Aliyu reported that the attack occurred as travelers attempted to flee to nearby bushes for safety.

The area has been plagued by persistent bandit activity, leading to a heavy security presence being required. Survivors, including Aminu Muhammad, were stranded for several hours awaiting security escorts.

The ambush targeted a convoy under the protection of security personnel, resulting in the deaths of both security personnel and civilian members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), with several others sustaining injuries. Efforts are ongoing to locate missing persons, and while ten deaths have been confirmed, there are reports of bandits abducting an unspecified number of travelers during the attack.

The Zamfara State Police Command has not yet responded to requests for official confirmation regarding the incident.
