100 Undergraduates Receive N10m Scholarships in Rivers

The Tekena Thankgod Ikpaki Foundation awarded scholarships totaling N10 million to 100 undergraduates from Okrika and Ogu-Bolo Local Government Area in Rivers State. This initiative, part of a community outreach event marking the foundation's anniversary, was led by its director, Tekena Thankgod Ikpaki.

The foundation, established a decade ago, aims to empower indigenous youths of Okrika descent and promote a better future while steering clear of social vices. Ikpaki, who is also the chairman of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) Port Harcourt branch, emphasized the importance of supporting individuals in need.

The foundation plans to expand its educational scholarship program to 60 university students, responding to community feedback. Additionally, a professorial chair in the Department of Petroleum Geochemistry at the University of Port Harcourt will be named after the foundation.

Beneficiary Ibitamuno Joshua expressed gratitude for the scholarship, which alleviates financial stress and allows focus on studies.
