Eleven Dead, 50 Houses Burned in Nasarawa Clashes

In a tragic incident in Nasarawa State, eleven individuals were killed and approximately 50 houses were burned during renewed clashes between the Akyawa and Udeg Kasa communities. The Nasarawa State Police Command confirmed these casualties, which occurred in the early hours of Friday, April 3, 2026.

The clashes were reportedly sparked by a reprisal attack following the alleged killing of two kinsmen. The State Commissioner of Police, Shetima Jauro Moham, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of life and assured the community of the police's commitment to justice.

He ordered an intensified manhunt for the perpetrators and emphasized the need for law and order. The police are collaborating with military and civil defense forces to restore peace.
