Security Restored in Nasarawa After Deadly Attacks

Normalcy has been restored in communities within the Nasarawa Local Government Area of Nasarawa State after deadly reprisal attacks. The situation followed the deployment of reinforcements from the police and other security personnel, as disclosed by SP Ramhan Nansel, the Public Relations Officer of the Nasarawa State Command.

The violence erupted when individuals allegedly took the law into their own hands, resulting in attacks that killed kinsmen last Thursday in the Udeg Kasa Akyawa community, leading to loss of lives and destruction of property. In response to the violence, Shetima Moham Jauro, the Commissioner of Police, ordered an intensified manhunt for the perpetrators and directed a tactical team and investigative unit to ensure prompt identification, arrest, and prosecution of those involved in criminal acts.

Stakeholders held a meeting in the affected area, where Jauro appealed to residents to remain calm and abide by the law, urging them to cooperate with security agencies and provide credible information to aid ongoing investigations.
