Eleven Killed in Nasarawa Community Clashes

On April 3, 2026, the Nasarawa State Police Command confirmed that eleven residents were killed during violent clashes between the Akyawa Udeg and Kasa communities in the Nasarawa Local Government Area. The confrontations, which began in the early hours of Friday, resulted in extensive destruction of property, raising concerns about security in the region.

Police spokesperson Ramhan Nansel expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident and extended condolences to the families of the deceased. Following the violence, a manhunt was launched to identify and arrest those responsible for the killings, which were allegedly carried out by hoodlums seeking revenge for the earlier deaths of two kinsmen.

The police have also deployed additional security personnel to the affected communities in collaboration with the military and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps to ensure safety and restore peace.
