Rivers Journalist Claims Arrested Suspects Are Innocent

Allwel En, a broadcast journalist working with Classic FM 91.1, Beat FM 99.9, and Naija FM 92.7, reported that the 13 individuals arrested by police in Port Harcourt following an assault on him are not the actual suspects. En was attacked by hoodlums while carrying out his duties in the Garrison area of Port Harcourt.

He expressed his disappointment that, three weeks after the incident, none of the real perpetrators had been arrested. En called on the police to intensify their efforts to ensure that those responsible for the assault are brought to justice.

According to Bless Agab, the spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, the suspects arrested were located near the scene of the attack and had committed similar crimes, such as phone theft. However, En emphasized the need for the police to verify the identities of the suspects and to focus on apprehending the actual attackers.
