14 Candidates Take ICT Proficiency Test for Secretary Role

On February 25, 2026, fourteen candidates vying for the permanent secretary position in Nigeria's Federal Civil Service participated in an ICT proficiency test, which is part of the selection process entering its decisive phase. This follows the release of results from a written examination conducted by the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF), where 25 senior officials sat for the assessment, and 14 candidates met the required benchmark to advance.

The ICT proficiency test aims to evaluate the digital capabilities of the candidates, reflecting the increasing reliance on technology in public administration. Mr.

Didi Esther Walson, head of the civil service, emphasized that the process adheres strictly to credible competition and aligns with the federal government's reform drive to strengthen professionalism across services. The selection procedure is designed to produce leaders capable of steering modern public service in line with contemporary government standards, ensuring transparency and merit-based identification of competent officials.
