Four PAP Students Achieve Distinction in UK Master’s Degrees

Four students under the scholarship scheme of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) graduated with distinctions in their master’s degrees from UK universities. The distinguished graduates are Nina Orubebe (financial management), Tonbra Tonlagha (international hospitality and tourism), Kemien Egbekun (law), and Simon Douye (construction engineering management).

They were part of a total of sixteen offshore postgraduate scholarship students who completed their degrees in various fields, including software engineering, oil and gas, and data science. The PAP, led by Dr.

Dennis Brutu Otuaro since March 2024, has produced 111 master’s and doctoral degree holders, with 57 from foreign universities. Dr.

Otuaro commended the scholars for their dedication and noted the program's alignment with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda aimed at bridging the human capital development gap in the Niger Delta. He also addressed detractors of the scholarship scheme, emphasizing the support from President Tinubu for expanding educational opportunities in the region.
