14 Suspected Cultists Arrested in Edo State After Hijacking Corpse

The Edo State Police Command arrested 14 male suspects involved in cult-related activities after they hijacked a corpse and attacked two motorcyclists, causing serious injuries. The police swiftly intervened, recovering eleven weapons including cutlasses, knives, and shovels.

The suspects, including Promis Oyido, Jude Usidebhosoh, and others, were apprehended during a violent incident at a burial ceremony. The injured victims were taken to Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital for medical attention.

The police are conducting investigations into the incident. This arrest follows previous efforts by the command, which had arrested 28 suspects involved in cult-related activities in June last year.

Three suspects have already confessed to being members of a cult group and have been arraigned in court.
