Edo Government Demolishes Building Linked to Cultists

The Edo State government, through the Edo State Special Security Squad, has demolished a building in the Amagba area of Benin City, linked to cultists. This action follows the arrest of two suspects, alleged members of the Aye confraternity, in connection with recent killings in the city.

Mr. Eribo Enwanta, the squad's spokesperson, confirmed that five other individuals managed to escape during the operation.

The demolition was part of a broader initiative mandated by the state governor to enforce anti-cultism laws rigorously. Enwanta emphasized that the squad would continue to execute this mandate regardless of the individuals involved.

Additionally, the squad sealed off a residence in the Upper Uwa area of Benin, identified as the last known address of a suspect believed to be the mastermind behind a recent fatal shooting on Wire Road.
