Kano South Council Chairmen Endorse Rurum for Senate

Sixteen council chairmen from Kano South have officially endorsed Rurum for the Senate, as stated in a resolution reached unanimously over the weekend. This decision aims to support Rurum, the current representative for Rano, Kibiya, and Bunkur Federal Constituency, against the incumbent senator, Suleiman Abdulrahman Kawu Sumaila.

The chairmen emphasized the need to sustain peace and mutual understanding among party members, highlighting that the endorsement is intended to strengthen solidarity and ensure quality representation for the people of Kano South at the national level. Vice Chairman Ali Sarkin Yaki of Bebeji Local Government explained that this move is necessary to prevent the party from losing the senatorial district to opposition in the 2027 elections.

When contacted, a close associate of the senator preferred not to comment on the resolution, stating it was not yet time to address the issues raised.
