Two Herders Killed in Plateau State Militia Attack

In Plateau State, Nigeria, at least two herders, Muhammad Sani (18) and Faruk Bilyaminu (17), were confirmed dead following an attack attributed to a militia group identified as Berom. The incident occurred on a Saturday, less than 48 hours after a previous attack where three herders were killed along the Dorowa Jong road in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area.

Ibrahim Yusuf Babayo, the chairman of the Plateau State chapter of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), reported the latest attack, emphasizing the need for immediate action from security agencies, including the Department of State Services (DSS) and police, to ensure peace and protect herders. Babayo called for calm among MACBAN members and urged the state and federal governments to take measures to safeguard the lives and livestock of herders.

The Berom Youth Moulder Association, represented by Rwang Tengwong, denied awareness of the attacks on herders.
