MACBAN Condemns Plateau Killings, Urges Peace and Unity

The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) strongly condemned the recent killings of 30 innocent citizens in Plateau State, describing the incident as a tragic loss that continues to inflict pain on the community. MACBAN expressed its condolences to the families of the victims and highlighted the ongoing cycle of violence that undermines peace and coexistence in the region.

The organization criticized the role of religious leaders who, instead of promoting peace, have contributed to division through inflammatory rhetoric. MACBAN urged these leaders to exercise restraint and promote dialogue to de-escalate tensions.

Furthermore, the association called on security agencies to take decisive action against those instigating violence, whether through direct actions or inciting statements, and to ensure justice is served without fear or favor. They emphasized the importance of strengthening security presence in vulnerable communities to prevent further attacks and promote peacebuilding initiatives.

MACBAN reiterated its commitment to mutual respect and national unity, expressing readiness to collaborate with stakeholders to restore peace in Plateau State and across Nigeria.
