Edo Government Demolishes Building Linked to Cult Crimes

The Edo State Government has demolished a building in Amagba, which was allegedly linked to cult killings, as part of a renewed crackdown on violent groups in the state. The demolition was carried out by a special security outfit known for flushing out cultists and kidnappers, under the leadership of Governor Okpebholo.

Eribo Enwanta, the principal security officer, addressed journalists at the scene, stating that the operation was in line with the state's anti-cultism law and was executed without fear or favor. Following the demolition, two suspects, Okiaghel and Obagi Ken Dada, were confirmed to have presented themselves to the security squad after a seven-day ultimatum was issued.

The operation also involved sealing off the residence of Etiosa Akhiombar, known as Joshua, who is described as a member of the Maphit confraternity and allegedly the mastermind behind recent killings on Wire Road. Reports indicate that Joshua has relocated to Canada, and the state is seeking assistance from Interpol to track him down.
