Sokoto Kidnap Victims Deliver Babies in Captivity

In Sokoto State, two victims of a kidnapping incident delivered a baby boy and a baby girl while being held captive by bandits. The victims were abducted alongside six family members from Takatsaba Village in the Sabon Birni Local Government Area, where bandits attacked a household, killing an elderly man and leaving children orphaned.

The victims, who spoke anonymously, reported that despite an eight million naira ransom being paid, the bandits demanded a total of ten million naira. Three victims, including a nursing mother, managed to escape to Zurmi Town in Zamfara State and are currently receiving medical attention.

However, three young men and two women remain in captivity. The victims have called on security agencies and the government to urgently strengthen security in the area, emphasizing the need for brave security personnel to be deployed.

When contacted, DSP Ahmad Rufai of the Sokoto State Police Command stated that they were not aware of the incident as it had not been reported to them.
