Bandit Attacks in Sokoto and Kwara Leave One Dead

On Saturday night, a bandit attack in Mallamawar Yari Village, Gawakuk Ward, Rabah Local Government Area, Sokoto State, resulted in one death and the abduction of seven individuals, including three women and two men. The attack was confirmed by DSP Ahm Rufai of the Sokoto State Police Command, who dismissed claims that the assailants disguised themselves as women.

The attack caused panic among residents, prompting local security agencies to intensify efforts to track down the perpetrators and rescue the victims. In a related incident in Ndeji Village, Edu Local Government Area, Kwara State, bandits ambushed victims returning home from a cooking hut.

Eyewitness Mr. Idri recounted that the victims were attacked around 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM. Local vigilantes successfully rescued three individuals from a separate kidnapping attempt in Chitta Community, Patigi Local Government Area, after a distress call mobilized a joint operation involving soldiers and local guards.
